This week’s episode is all about your questions! From fitness to nutrition, I received some awesome questions for you guys that I couldn’t pass on. I hope you enjoy the show and please keep shooting those questions over via Instagram, email or from the website. Today’s Questions: What kind of nutrition program am I (and Dan) currently following? Do we follow low carb, high fat/protein diet and what foods do we stay away from in our home for optimal health? (I think this answer is going to surprise you!). How to workout when you’re recovering from an injury and feeling like you’re lacking on “the burn”? How many sets should you do? How many reps? What kind of weight? A listener wrote in saying how much she loves MetCon style workouts and has her circuit training days up to 6 but wants to know what to do on the 7th day to round out her week? This is a really important question, so make sure to listen in! We’re also going to catch up on life and chat about fitness, goals and more! What’s the plan for February’s challenge? It’s all about pushups, so listen in and let me know if you want to join me in my insanity! Like the show? Show some love by leaving a quick review on iTunes! This episode is all about becoming smarter and more aware! After catching up and talking recent workouts, we tackled some AWESOME reader questions... "I was listening recently you mentioned that you just finished the book "The Microbiome Diet." I have been struggling with my digestion for the past 2 months and following the Paleo guidelines, but it doesn't seem to be fixing the issue. I can only imagine that it has something to do with my gut. I am curious as to which other nutrition books you have read and enjoyed in the past and which ones you are looking into. I am currently a personal trainer and have lately been very interested in nutrition. I would like to keep learning and broaden my knowledge on all of the latest nutritional trends that we have seen in our society." What a great question! Books mentioned: The Microbiome Diet And a few favorite mindset resources discussed: Infinite Possibilities And the 2nd question we discussed dealing with exercise compulsion/addiction when you're stuck at a desk all day. How to relief feelings of anxiety from non-movement and to safely fit movement in your day. Make sure to hit up FitWomensWeekly.net and sign up for FREE for the 12 days of Sweat & Strength! Ep 130: Former Combat Photographer Stacy Pearsall Transforms Her Life & Body After Post War Injuries & Weight Gain
If you ask Stacy, she'll tell you that I've been a blessing to her. That's not true. The moment I became her trainer, I was the one blessed. So much to learn from this woman and so much inspiration. After several tours through Iraq as a combat photographer, Stacy was forced to leave the military after sustaining severe injuries from a bomb. Hello friends! In this week's episode, Ashley and I hit on quite a few topics... the biggest being: Is it possible to gain muscle without fat? And if so, how? What kind of workouts should you do? Macros, intermittent fasting, paleo, Whole30, keto... it's as if we need a plan to survive and eat. The other day I was telling Dan that I was going to start IF (intermittent fasting) with Alex to which he responded with... "Why do women need a plan for eating!? Why can't you just eat good food, leave out the sugar and just eat when you're hungry?" The man has a point. For so long, I've been tracking macros or trying something. Have we (women) forgotten how to naturally eat? Why do we need a plan? I talk about it today and also fill you guys in on some random happenings! Make sure to follow at Instagram.com/Trainerkindal and fitwomensweekly.net AND make sure to leave a review :) |

Girls Gone Wod with Joy and Claire is one of my favorite podcast. It's two friends sitting together and talking about life, food, fitness and everything else in between. But recently Joy has been having a lot of deep chats about body image, what's positive and what's negative and how women are bringing one another down on social media by showing off their bodies instead of physical strengths. As someone who has battled exercise addiction and food obsessions, I get it. But That doesn't mean I don't have a counter argument. Luckily, Ashley (@AshleyDrummonds) is with me and we share VERY similar thoughts on positive body image between ladies. So sit back and enjoy. If you have thoughts don't hesitate to share! We've heard stories about the women who lost their periods due to high intensity exercise, so they cut back for a bit, ate more and voila... period returns. (Listen to Ep 111 for Tina Muir's story). But that's not always the case. What happens when you cut back on exercise, relax more with food, and nothing happens? No period, no hormonal changes... just frustration and more waiting. That's what's going on for my friend Emma (@healthybalancewithemma). I feel honored that she asked to share her story and the steps she's taken to work for her fertility. In today's episode she shares everything. What led her to not have a period. How long she waited before seeing a doctor. And the steps she has taken since to try and regain her fertility. Please be kind and share some love as this is a very personal episode and takes a lot of courage to share. Love this episode? Listen to more at iTunes and give a review! Ashley (AshleyDrummonds.com) is back with me to discuss an issue that seems to be popping up everywhere: under eating. You've likely seen women talking about losing weight while eating the most they ever have. Or women having a hard time losing weight because they aren't eating enough. In the current trend of Macros, undereating and overeating are getting lots of attention. Recently, we've heard undereating being used as an excuse for lack of results and even weight gain... so let's talk about it. We break it down and explain the truth about not eating enough vs not fueling enough. There's a difference. We also talk wine, finds, and workouts. Enjoy! Listen in and make sure to subscribe. We all can agree on two things: 1). Social media is an important part of our society 2). It can really bring us down or lift us up depending on the mood we’re in or the content that shows up on our timelines. Today Ashley (AshleyDrummonds.com) and I are going to talk about the pitfalls of social media on our mental confidence and fitness goals. How to break away from the comparison games. We ask the question… are people really THAT happy? And our own struggles with trying to play the social media game. But it’s not all bad, social media is a great addition to our society! So how can you use it to improve and benefit? We’ll share that too! Ep. 117: Real Women, Real Trainers: What Do We Eat? How Often Do We Workout? What Do Workouts Look Like?
