Aging isn't something we get excited about but there are perks to getting older. We experience more and with it we get wiser, calmer and more secure. 

It's taken 39 years to learn all of these important lessons but I wouldn't trade it for a thing. And I'm sure this next year I'll learn even more about myself and navigating the world around me that I'll share when I turn 40!

After a few months of running just 3 days a week, last weekend I successfully completed the Peyton's Wild & Wacky 50K... and placed 2nd in my age group!

Listen, I love doctors. My father in law is a doctor... I was pre-med and I wanted to be a doctor for most of my life. But that doesn't mean doctors know everything. So when a family member told me her doctor to her that if she was able to do more than 6 reps, she wasn't lifting heavy enough... 

I was floored. And to be honest, angry.

Here's why not everyone (in fact most people) should be lifting so heavy that they can't do more than 6 reps. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. And yes, of course I give my advice on what they should be doing instead.
